Room 220- Monday morning

Alexis had gone away for the weekend, and came back with three suitcases and a massive hangover. Maybe she was still a little drunk? Either way, all she really wanted to do was crawl into bed and sleep until about 4 pm tomorrow.

She was having trouble with the door, though, and she couldn't believe this was how her day back was starting, so she just started banging on it. "Tahaniiiiiii..."

Even though Astrid was planning on going to breakfast before class, it was still a bit early, but the banging from down the hall was a little hard not to notice. Which was why she padded out of her own room, and considered the source with a wary glance.

"Locked out of your room?" she hazarded a guess, taking in all of Alexis' luggage to use as another piece to this puzzle.

"I guess?" Alexis said, confused. "But like, also doors are just really hard."

And while nothing about Alexis necessarily struck Astrid as being phenominally bright, she had at least seemed competent, and so that wary look pushed itself a little further into full on suspicious. "They're actually not?" she pointed out, eyeing Alexis as she came closer. "I mean, unless it's the island messing with them, but I opened mine just fine..."

"It's just..." Alexis said, very seriously. "It's been a really hard time, you know?"

It had not.

It was all just so serious and so ridiculous that Astrid couldn't help herself. She got one look at Alexis and her face and just broke, unable to keep the giggles out of herself any longer, ducking her head and just laughing.

It was really pretty ridiculous, if you thought about it.

Alexis, for absolutely no god damn reason, winked at her.

Let it be noted that Alexis did not actually know how to wink, so it really did look like she was enjoying having something in her eye.

The laughter stopped abruptly. All of a sudden, this was no longer funny, and Astrid, squaring her shoulders, looked down, trying to collect herself from all the heavy emotions that a simple wink could stir up inside of her and pull her down.

Alexis, in a sexy nightie, said, "It's fine. Not that big a deal."

There were a lot of things going on, and not a single one made sense, and Astrid was feeling crazier than when she first arrived on Fandom, so the suspicious look was back, especially considering Alexis' little wardrobe change.

"I think," she ventured, suspicious gaze roaming over the walls, "there's something Fandomy going on right now..."

"I think so," Alexis frowned. "How do we make it stop?"

"Probably by just ignoring it," said Astrid, with a sudden swell of misplaced confidence and a smirk to match. "It has to go away eventually!"

"Maybe," Alexis said distractedly, from the desk in the hallway where she was highlighting every word in her notes.

"I guess it's not so bad," said Astrid, smiling through the hair o her face from an u expected breeze rushing bu. "As far as things go here, this could be worse."

"You're right. This really could be worse," Alexis said. "I even forgot about my hangover for a minute."

[white_oleander]

"You have a hangover?" Astrid asked, giggling again, as if this detail just made this the funniest ot twist in the world.

"Yes, because I'm cool," Alexis said, frowning.

Astrid could be cool, too. As she was apparently trying to prove by laying back with affected apathy by the pool.

"Oh," she said, sounding disinteresd. "Cool."

"Yeah, like that," Alexis said, apparently dubiously, while making that face.

"What about this?" asked Astrid, who was now concerned with looking cool without a hangover, which involved shifting her pose, twisting slightly, hand lifted, fingers in her hair.

"I mean, that works," said Alexis, suddenly in sunglasses and a white dress, looking cool.

Uuuuugh, she was back.

"No one's here!" Tahani yelled, glaring at the door.

There, that'd work.

"Tahani, doors are hard!" Alexis said, incredibly alarmed by that.

Tahani giggled. "They really are! How frustrating for you!"

She was definitely not getting up to help, though.

"I'll get the moose," Alexis said, rolling her eyes. "Or the troll guy!"

"I don't think the moose could get up the stairs," Tahani, voice much, much deeper now, mused thoughtfully.

"I get the moose can do a lot of things," Alexis said, smiling slightly.

What.

"Ewwww," Tahani said, definitely meaning that.

"Let me in, please?" Alexis asked, feeling pretty good about this.

"Fiiiiine," Tahani said, opening the door. "But your stuff has disappeared!"

"What's that mean?" Alexis asked, wet, pushing past Tahani curiously.

"Your stuff's not in this room," Tahani said, rolling her eyes. "Maybe check a different room or something?"

Even if doors were hard?

"Cool, I'm going to let you bring it all back," Alexis said.

"Why are you accusing me of having anything to do with it?" Tahani asked. "I think it was the squirrels. Pretty sure I saw one wearing your cute floppy hat."

"Tahaniiii...."

Apparently Alexis only pronounced her name with a whine.

"Whaaaaat?" Tahani whined back. "She was working it."

"Uuuuugh! Oh my god, tell me what you did with my stuff right now!" Alexis demanded.

Sorry, Tahani can't answer right now. She's a giraffe.

"Maybe as a giraffe you can lead me to my stuff?" Alexis suggested.

[sexy_giraffe]

"I don't know you insist that I know where it went," Tahani replied. "They took it out the door and went--somewhere. I didn't ask."

Liar, liar, tie and trousers on fire.

"It's just..." Alexis said, seriously, trying to hide her hurt. "It's been a really tough time."

Tahani the giraffe looked as understanding as a giraffe could.

"You're adorable, you know," Alexis told her, grinning.

The giraffe was also outsmarted by doors and by also being very tall, so she smacked her head on the door jamb trying to escape with a bit of dignity.

Alexis winked at the door jamb.

"Oww," Tahani said, clutching her forehead. "That is going to take so much foundation to cover up."
