Room 220- Saturday kind of still during the picnic

After meeting her roommate, Alexis had done the logical thing and left the picnic a little earlier to go find her room and start unpacking her many, many suitcases, because she was serious about closet space.

The issue was, she'd also had a lot of luggage last time she came here that got left behind when she ended up somewhere not here for four months, and all of that was waiting in the room already.

Unpacking was going to be a long, long project. And she already had suitcases piled on the bed next to the window, just in case it got deemed "extra."

"So it turns out there isn't a front desk, only someone named 'Moose' and they don't work until Monday," Tahani huffed, then huffed some more when she smacked her shin against a foot locker.

The room really was 80 percent overpriced luggage, huh.

Well then Alexis was super glad she'd started first. "Oh. Well, I'm sure there's another room you could grab until then. The dorms seem pretty big."

"But what if the linens haven't been aired?" Tahani asked.

"It's just for two nights," Alexis said, like that was nothing.

[sexy_giraffe]

"I could get bedbugs!" Tahani said. "Or lice! Or both!"

The horror.

"Ew. No one actually gets lice anymore."

She'd take that back years from now.

But she sighed, and said, "I guess you can take the extra bed then if it's just for a few days."

"And half the closet space. For now. You know how impossible silk is when it's been crushed," Tahani wheedled.

"Three fourths. Because it's temporary," Alexis tried.

[sexy_giraffe]

"Half," Tahani said firmly, "but the emptied luggage can be piled on my half of the room."

Before it fell and knocked one of them out.

"Okay, but if you're planning on moving out Monday, then why do you need half a closet?" Alexis pressed.

"Would you rather pay for my extensive dry cleaning bill trying to get the wrinkles out of the poor clothing that isn't hung properly?" Tahani asked.

"It's just money," Alexis said, but mostly she didn't want to go a bunch of rounds over this. "Uuuuuugh fine. Because it's temporary."

"What a kind and generous person you are," Tahani said, opening her variety of bags in search of decent pillows.

"You offered to get a new room," Alexis reminded her, opening another suitcase.

[sexy_giraffe]

"Yes, but I am not going pillowless for two entire days!"

The horror, the horror.

"Who said you had to go pillowless?" Alexis said.

And just because, took one of the pillows from her side and casually tossed it over. See! Helpful!

"But your pillows might not be as nice as mine!"

Tahani, that's just silly.

"You know, some people have real problems," Alexis told her, which was kind of hilarious.

"And for that, we can throw a lovely gala with gift bags and £500 a plate dinner," Tahani said.

Was it wrong Alexis could hear that in her mother's voice?

"...Yeah, I'd skip that," she decided. She was more of an afterparty kind of girl.

"What if we got a really good musical act?" Tahani wondered.
